What sensors are used in new energy vehicle batteries

1 Types and functions of sensors in new energy vehicle batteries

1.1 Temperature Sensor

Temperature sensors are used to monitor the temperature of the battery pack, motor, and interior of the vehicle, ensuring normal system operation and temperature management. By real-time monitoring of battery temperature, temperature sensors can prevent battery overheating, thereby avoiding safety hazards such as thermal runaway and fires.

1.2 Pressure Sensor
Pressure sensors are used to monitor the pressure of gases or liquids, such as hydrogen pressure sensors or air pressure sensors in battery systems. In the battery management system, pressure sensors can detect the pressure of the battery pack for thermal runaway alarm, and also play an important role in the brake assist system.
1.3 Current Sensor
Current sensors are mainly used for battery system management, motor drive control, and power modules in the three electric systems. It can accurately monitor the current status of the battery pack, prevent overcharging or overdischarging of the battery, improve battery efficiency, and extend battery life.
1.4 Oxygen sensor
Oxygen sensors are used to detect the oxygen content in the exhaust system, in order to achieve emission control and optimize fuel economy. In new energy vehicles, oxygen sensors help to precisely control the combustion process of the engine, reduce emissions, and improve energy efficiency.
1.5 Other sensors
In addition, new energy vehicle battery systems also use light sensors, acceleration sensors, angle sensors, distance sensors, and tilt sensors. These sensors are used to sense light intensity, detect vehicle acceleration and posture, measure steering angle and vehicle posture, measure the distance between the vehicle and obstacles ahead, and detect the tilt angle and horizontal state of the vehicle, providing data support for system control, performance optimization, and safety assurance.
